Townhouses and Houses for Condo Living
Most condominiums are found in high-rise buildings in cities, each with uniform interior design that the inhabitant may otherwise manipulate. However, condominiums can also exist in smaller towns or in the country. They may not even be in high rise buildings. Here are some houses that may be used as condominiums.
Townhouses originated in Europe as multi-floored terraced houses that share one wall between units. These look like one big building along the road. Working class people occupied these townhouses, which give them sufficient shelter against harsh weather. Condominiums in townhouses also tend to be inexpensive.
Patio homes are sometimes marketed as townhouses, but there are major differences. Townhouses are terraced houses with two to three floors, traditionally with gable dormer windows in attics and bedrooms; they look very much like apartment buildings. Patio homes, on the other hand, look like simple houses, like bungalows perhaps, which are attached to one another.
A duplex is similar to a patio home. A duplex is made of two houses joined together with a single wall or a large house split into two separate units. Each unit may be a split-level home, meaning each story contains at least one room. For example, there is a living room on the ground floor, a dining and kitchen area above that, a bathroom above that, and bedrooms in the upper floors, and so on. These are common in music row condos.
Queen Anne style houses are often very big and designed for large, wealthy families. However, people now prefer to have fewer children, so they no longer need big houses as much. Instead of letting elegant Queen Anne style houses fall into disrepair, some have been divided and converted into apartments or condominiums. Each nashville condo unit may be modified to accommodate necessary facilities like kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
The Shingle style house is similar to the Queen Anne Style; it is blended with the Eastlake style of architecture. A Shingle style house is also very big and elegant with several rooms inside. There are music row condos of this style that can accommodate at least two families.
